Trying to decide on what credit card to get can be very difficult. Do you get credit cards for poor credit or do you get a credit card that offers points? There are so many decisions and it can get very difficult. The following are the three basic types of credit cards that are out there. There is more detail about each one, but these are just the three basic ones.
· Bank Cards: A bank card is a credit card that is offered by your bank. For instance, a HSBC Credit Card could be one that you could get from your bank. These are typically Visa or Mastercard and are offered strictly through your bank.
· Travel and Entertainment: These are cards where you build points. An AMEX credit card is one of these kinds of cards where you build points as you spend more money. These are good if you have to spend money and want to get something back for it.
· Merchant cards: These are cards that are between the department store and the customer. If you shop regularly at a store, it might prove useful to get one of these to cut out the middle man.
Whatever kind of card you decide to get depends entirely on what you want to gain from it. There are credit cards out there for everyone, but depending on how good your credit is will determine how great of an offer you can get.
